  6. Adjust the colour using the provided sliders till you’re satisfied. Now select Edit > Select All. Then select Edit Copy to duplicate the full recoloured icon.
  7. Return to the original folder by right-clicking it and selecting Get Info.
  8. Select the folder icon in the top left, then use Edit Paste or Cmd + V to paste in the new icon you created.

Method #3. Restore the Mac icon to the default

  1. Select the icon to be reset by right-clicking the folder, app, or document and selecting Get Info.
  2. To highlight the icon, press Edit Cut or Cmd + X.

The icon has been reset to its default state. If you wish to alter it again, simply repeat the process.
