  1. Launch Disk Utility.

  1. Launch Disk Utility.
  2. Choose the volume to be deleted.
  3. From the top toolbar, select the minus sign (-).

Method #3. Erase an APFS

  1. Select the Volume to be erased in Disk Utility.
  2. On the top toolbar, click the Erase button.
  3. You can alter the name and format of the Volume if you want.
  4. Then, select Erase.
